If you have a new baby, you might be wondering if it's safe to expose her to the sun. Even with her UPF 50+ FASTEN® bathing suit and UPF 50+ FASTEN® sun hat, there are certain guidelines parents need to follow to protect their little ones from those powerful rays. According to BabyCenter, if your baby is under six months, it's best to keep her out of direct sunlight completely.
When your baby is old enough to be outside in the sun, try to keep her in the shade as much as possible. Keep her covered with UPF clothing whenever possible. For beach and pool days, be sure to look for baby girl swimwear that has a rating of UPF 50+ (such as FASTEN® swimwear!). Also keep cover ups, rash guards, and sun hats handy. Don't forget to pack your beach umbrella, sun tent, or stroller parasol if you're taking a walk. They even make sunglasses for babies to protect their eyes!
